About

ROOTED IN RESILIENCE.,
WITH A SPARK OF SOUL.

KIM AVERY IS A PUBLISHED AUTHOR, SPEAKER, STORYTELLER,  AND VISIONARY REALTOR WHO BELIEVES LEGACY IS BUILT IN THE EVERYDAY MOMENTS - IN THE HOMES WE LIVE IN, IN THE HEARTS WE HOLD, AND THE ECHOES WE LEAVE BEHIND.

I’ve worn many hats — Realtor, Angel Mom, Speaker, Author — but through it all, one truth has remained:
we are meant to leave echoes of love, courage, and impact wherever we go.

Whether I’m guiding someone through a move during a major life transition, sharing my story on stage, or developing new ways to help entrepreneurs lead with authenticity, I believe in creating space for grief, joy, and growth to exist together.
This isn’t just my story - Its a testament to resilience.

Hi, I’m Kim Avery realtor of 20 years. Angel mom. Published Author. Grief Advocate, and the heart behind The Hudson Project and the Fireside Coffee Chat podcast.

But titles only scratch the surface. My story is stitched together like my heart once broken. Deep with love, real loss, second chances, and the quiet strength it takes to start over- and over again.

I’ve always believed a home is more than four walls. It’s where real healing happens. Where memories are made, and where we figure out how we are becoming.

After losing my son, Hudson, and my mother shortly before that, I found myself rebuilding a life I never imagined I was going to have to live. It was in those tender moments when I heard a calling - between grief and growth - that I realized - joy and sorrow can co-exist.  We don’t have to choose.

Through that realization, The Hudson Project was born. -  I heard a calling to create affirmation cards for grief.

Through that realization, The Hudson Project was born - a space to hold loss with strength which still moving forward with love, and through it I found a super power, a renewed purpose: to help others navigate a big life transition with heart, humour and grace.

My Story

With over 20 years of experience in residential real estate and a commercial license, I’ve done it all — from closing deals to flipping 14+ properties. As a certified life coach, I bring trauma-informed principles into real estate, blending business with empathy and heart.

In 2019, I founded The Hudson Project, a line of affirmation cards designed to honor both joy and grief — a mission that later inspired my 2025 book, Unreserved: The Unlikely Dance of Joy and Grief.

I host two podcasts — Fireside Coffee Chat and Sold at Sunset: A Real Estate Podcast with Belle and Kim — where I share honest conversations, industry insight, and a little humor along the way. I'm also a speaker, coach… and founder of a cleaning crew. Because why not?

You can usually find me watching the sunrise, hiking with my dog Oliver, treasure-hunting at vintage markets, or sipping coffee by the lake. I love wildflowers, handwritten notes, and the magic of a good before-and-after story—especially in real estate or life.

My approach is guided by three beliefs:

1. Healing is never linear—but it’s always possible.
2. A home should support your life, not the other way around.
3. You don’t need a traditional family to leave a powerful legacy.

What I stand for

Whether you’re here to buy or sell a home, rediscover who you are, or simply feel less alone in your journey—
I’m so glad you’re here.
